Saying Yes to the Unknown: How One Risk Changed Everything

Saying Yes to the Unknown: How One Risk Changed Everything

12 Years Ago, I Said Yes to a Mystery Adventure (And It Rewrote My Life)

I almost missed it.

Twelve years ago this week, I was scrolling through my phone—probably while half-heartedly pretending to "work on my business" (read: staring at a blank screen and questioning all my life choices)—when I saw *this* post from Jon Acuff:

ADVENTURERS WANTED.
*For dangerous journey. 24 people, 24 days, 1 awesome result.*
*Success difficult. Risk guaranteed.*

No details. No roadmap. Just four lines that felt like a dare.

And friends, I *clicked so fast*.

Why? Zero clue. Maybe it was my Aries impulsiveness (shoutout to my fellow "act first, Google later" fire signs). Maybe it was the universe nudging me toward something bigger than my then-coaching-business-that-was-mostly-a-business-card. Or maybe, Jupiter was already whispering, "Buckle up, kid. Your next 12-year cycle’s about to get WILD."

(Spoiler: It did.)

What Happened When I Said Yes to What I Didn’t Understand

That random "yes" led to:
- The Start Experiment: A 24-day sprint where I met humans who became lifelong co-conspirators.
- Dreamers & Builders: A squad that turned "impossible" dreams into Tuesday-night conversations.
- Launch Out Conferences: Because apparently, I was now a person who *hosted things* (?!).
- Gateway to Dreams, Life Coach School, and a business that actually (gasp) paid me.

All because I trusted a vibe before I had a plan.

Here’s what I *didn’t* know back then:
- Jupiter had just begun a new 12-year cycle - one of expansion, risk, and believing in shit that doesn’t exist yet.
- This week, as of *right now*, it’s starting all over again.

I just knew I was tired of playing small.

Fast-Forward to Today: I’m Back at the Edge

This past year, I shut down the version of my business that was built on what I thought I *had* to be.
I faced things I never thought I’d face:
- Grief. Collapse. Identity unraveling.
- Debt. Depression. Disillusionment.

And still, every step, I could feel it:
Something new was forming.

Not a rebuild. A rebirth.

Now, here I am:
- Tools in hand (way sharper than the 2012 model).
- A voice I trust (no more borrowed belief systems).
- A vision that’s mine (zero performative glitter).

But the same truth remains:

Success difficult.
Risk guaranteed.
One awesome result.

Your Turn: What’s Your ‘Mystery Yes’?

Maybe it’s not a cryptic blog comment (RIP 2012 internet). Maybe it’s:
- That DM you’ve been overthinking. Send it.
- That idea you’ve been "saving for later." Start now.
- That thing you’re *terrified* to want. Claim it.

Because here’s the truth: The next 12 years are happening with or without you.
Why not make them *unrecognizably* awesome?

We’re not the same women we were 12 years ago.
Thank goodness.

But we’re still adventurers. Still dreamers. Still builders.

Still saying yes - especially when we’re not sure what’s on the other side.

Let's Talk

If you’ve ever had a moment like this - a "yes" that changed everything - comment blow and tell me: *What did you leap for, even when it made no sense?*
Let’s crowdsource courage for this new Jupiter cycle.
